I run this website and I respect your privacy. This section explains what personal data I collect, why I collect it, how long I keep it, and the choices you have.
1.2 What personal data I collect
Depending on how you use the site, I may collect:
Messages you send: your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Basic usage data: device/browser info and how you interact with the site.
I do not collect any data through the newsletter. The newsletter is hosted and managed entirely by LinkedIn. When you subscribe, your data is collected and processed by LinkedIn under their own privacy policy.
1.3 Why I use your data (lawful bases)
I process personal data only when there is a lawful basis, such as:
- To respond to you – legitimate interests (running the site and replying to queries).
- To protect the site – legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, stability).
- Analytics – consent, where non-essential cookies are involved.
1.4 Newsletter
The newsletter is published on LinkedIn and managed entirely by LinkedIn’s platform. This site links to it but does not collect, store, or process any subscriber data.

If you want to unsubscribe, you can do so directly through LinkedIn.

1.6 Sharing your data
I don’t sell your data. I may share limited data with the following service providers, solely to operate the site:
- Hosting: GoDaddy
- Spam protection: Akismet (if active)
- Analytics: Google Analytics and GoDaddy
1.7 International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected by one or more of the following safeguards:
- UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA)
- The provider’s participation in a recognised data protection framework
- Standard contractual clauses approved by the ICO

- Contact messages: 12 months, then deleted.
- Server/security logs: typically 90 days.
- Analytics data: anonymised and retained in line with the analytics provider’s standard retention periods.

- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Have it corrected if it’s inaccurate
- Have it deleted
- Restrict how I process it
- Object to processing
- Request portability (in some cases)
